Allie Rowe Hess

Mrs. Allie Rowe Hess, age 88, of Rowe, Virginia was called to her heavenly home on Monday, April 20, 2015 following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Allie Rowe Hess was born in Skeggs, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Rev. Ellis Rowe and Louise Ann McGlothlin Rowe. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother who cared for others more than herself. She was a strong prayer warrior and woman who loved God. Mrs. Hess was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. She had been a lifelong resident of the Rowe area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dexter Rowe; step-mother, Martha Rowe Hall; and step-brother, Soul Rowe. Those who remain to carry on her spirit are: Her loving husband of 69 years, Brady Hess of Rowe, VA Daughter, Barbara Hess McGraw and husband Bobby of Richlands, VA Sister, Fonnie Hess of Honaker, VA Half-sister, Patty Taylor and husband Andy of Abingdon, VA Half-brothers: Fred Rowe and wife Elizabeth of Rowe, VA Ellis B. Rowe and wife Joyce of Morristown, TN Sister-in-law, Opal Rowe of Rowe, VA Grandson, Brian McGraw of Richlands, VA Several nieces, nephews, friends and family also survive her. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Johnston Memorial Hospital Staff of PCU in Abingdon, VA, Mercy Ambulance Service of Lebanon, VA, Helping Hands Home Health Care, CVMC and Dr. Ernest Henry and the Staff of Russell County Dialysis Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Allie Rowe Hess will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. David Horton, Rev. Phillip Horton, Rev. Bob Osborne and Rev. Jeff Tiller officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Chester Rowe, Johnny Rowe, Gary Hess, Jim Ed Lambert, Bobby Alicie, Steve Vencill, Gerald McAllister, and Herbert Jamison. The visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home with services starting at 7:00 pm.
