Armalee Evon Brown

Armalee Evon Brown, age 85, of Whitewood, VA passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN. Armalee was born on February 10, 1934 in Washington County, VA and was the daughter of the late Bailey and Irene Holmes Price. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. Always concerned about the well-being of her family. Before her poor health, she enjoyed cooking and baking different cakes. Armalee was well known by her family and friends for her German chocolate and carrot cakes. She loved being a homemaker and changed the decor of her home often. She was of the Pentecostal Faith. Armalee loved reading her Bible and going to church when she was able. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Brown; one brother, Bobby Lee Price and a son-in-law, Michael Hughes. She is survived by: Three Sons: Carter Brown and wife, Crystal of Castlewood, VA Stevie Brown and wife, Claudia of Pounding Mill, VA Scott Brown and wife, Betsy of Abingdon, VA Two Daughters: Fonda Horn and husband, Bobby of Whitewood, VA Lisa Hughes of Whitewood, VA Sister: Carrie McCoy of Citrus Springs, FL Two Brothers: Jeff Price of Whitewood, VA Junior Price of Bastian, VA Eleven Grandchildren: Jamie Horn and wife, Tracy; Joel Horn and wife, Tina; Jeanna Smith and husband, Cameron; Jenny Hess and husband, John; Ciara Brown and, fiancé, Aaron; Devon Brown, Kristen Mason and husband, Daniel; Courtney Hilemon, and husband, Ryan; Misty Houchins and husband, Ron; twin granddaughters, Amelia and Kate Brown, who were Ma-Ma Brown’s sunshine. Fifteen Great Grandchildren: Hailey, Dawson, Connor, Caleb, Braxton, Brayden, Taylor and wife, Chelsie; Jordan and wife, Carrie; Hope and husband, Joe; Brooke and husband, Garfield; Carson, Kaison, Justin, Zachary, and Gabriel Two Great Great-Grandchildren: Garfield and Penelope Niece, Tonya Lester Sister-in-Law, Geraldine Johnson and husband, T. J. Special Neighbors: Sue Lawson and Gracen Wingo Special Caregiver, Betty Owens Special thanks to Interim Home Health; 4th Floor East Nursing Staff at Bristol Regional Medical Center; Amy Roberts, FNP, and her nurse, Robin Taylor. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Mike Altizer, Brother Bobby Horn and Brother Carter Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Family Cemetery at Jewell Ridge, VA. Pallbearers will be grandsons, great grandsons and special friends, Brad Lawson and Will Dunford. The Brown family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
