Betty Ruth Joyce

Betty Ruth Brown Joyce age 90, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia was surrounded by her loving family as she drew her last breath here on earth on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Betty was born June 15, 1931, in Jewell Ridge, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late, Jessee Lee Brown and wife, Elsie Smith-Brown, the mother who raised her. Her biological mother, the late Maddie Naomi Shelton Blevins. Betty had dedicated her life to caring for her family and was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a lifelong resident of the area and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joyce; Infant son, James Robert Joyce; sons, David Joyce, and Danny Joyce; Brothers, Fred Brown, Harold Brown; grandsons, Christopher Bostic, and Gerald Lee Joyce.; sister-in-law, Irene Brown. Those that remain to carry on her spirit are her: Daughter, Rita Bostic, and husband, Wayne of Swords Creek, VA Sons: Larry Joyce and wife, Carol of Cedar Bluff, VA Curtis Joyce and wife, Kim of Honaker, VA Daughters-in-law, Teresa Joyce, and Sonja Joyce Brother, Roger Brown, and wife, Phyllis of Jewell Ridge, VA Sister-in-law, Ethel Watson of Richlands, VA Ten grandchildren, Robin Bostic Dye, and husband, Rafty; Jeffrey Bostic; Karen Joyce Helmandollar and husband, Kevin; Melanie Joyce; Nicholas Joyce and wife, Kirsty; Laura Joyce; David Ryan Joyce; Robert Alex Joyce; Erin Joyce. Twelve Great Grandchildren, Lauren Jones and Torrey Jones; Ashley Jones Musick and husband, Tyler; Aiden Dye; Haley Bostic Ashby and husband, David; Carrigan Bostic; Anson Bostic; Seth Helmandollar; Jacob Helmandollar and wife, Brandi; Hudson Robert Joyce; Charlie Joyce; Julian Salcedo; Isabella “Bella” Salcedo and Shandi Dye Two Great-great grandchildren, Maddox Musick and Ronan Ashby The funeral service for Betty Joyce will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, with the Rev. Ethel Watson and Rev. Scotty Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers are Jeff Bostic, Aiden Dye, Rafty Dye, Seth Helmandollar, Kevin Helmandollar, Jacob Helmandollar, Alex Joyce, Tyler Musick, Ryan Joyce, and Nick Joyce.
