Bobby H. Sayers

Bobby H. Sayers, age 76, of Cedar Buff, VA passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA following a lengthy illness. Bobby was born in Doran, VA and was the son of the late James Claude and Eva Mae Blankenship Sayers of Tazewell County, VA. He was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1959. Bobby was an electrician for 20 years for Jewell Ridge Coal Company before retiring; he then worked for 22 years as a state mine inspector. He was a member of the Richlands Tabernacle Church for 45 years and was a lifelong resident of the Richlands area. He was a member of the United Mine Workers. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Opal White; and four brothers, Jack, Mick, Charles and Jesse Sayers. He is survived by: His Wife, Sandra McGraw Sayers Daughter, Lisa DeAngelo and husband, Michael of Pounding Mill, VA Sons: Jeff Sayers of Cedar Bluff, VA Christopher Sayers of Cedar Bluff, VA Three Sisters: Phyllis Coleman and husband, Harvey of Richlands, VA Elizabeth Nadine Rasnake of Richlands, VA Oweda Coleman of Franklinton, NC Brothers: Fred Sayers of Doran, VA Joseph Sayers and wife, Janice of Lauderdale, MS Grandchildren: Michael DeAngelo, Myles DeAngelo, Jeffrey Sayers, Lucas Sayers, and Rachel Christian Great Grandchildren: Allison Christian, Kristen Sayers, and Maddie Goins Several nieces and nephews also survive along with a host of family and friends. Funeral services for Bobby H. Sayers will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Richlands Tabernacle Church in Richlands, VA with Rev. Phillip Horton, Rev. Roger Boyd and Rev. Robert Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The Sayers family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Thursday evening at the Richlands Tabernacle.
