Devada A. Mutter

Devada A. Mutter age 80, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away at a local Richlands hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born September 21, 1939 in Shortt Gap, Virginia and was the daughter of the late King David Osborne and Edith Johnson Osborne. Devada was a proud graduate of the Garden High School Dragons, Class of 1959. She worked many years as a telephone operator for General Telephone and then Verizon, before retiring. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend. She will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Devada was greeted in heaven by her parents, her son, David Burwell; sister, Sonja Minnick; brother, Larry David Osborne and her grandson, Shayne Wilson. Those that will carry on her loving spirit are her: Husband, Darrell E. Mutter of Cedar Bluff, VA Daughters: Sabrina Jeffers and husband, Jim of Brevard, FL Faye Earp and husband, Bill of Lexington FL Lyz Wagner and companion, Mike of Brevard, FL Son, Wayland Burell of Thomasville, NC Stepdaughters: Carma Lynn and husband, Eddie of Knoxville, TN Carrie Gerigo and husband, Mario of Boone, NC Sisters: Shell Crawford of Elyria, OH Debbie Elswick of Abingdon, VA Judy Osborne of Hillsville, VA Brothers: Darry Osborne of Richlands, VA Joe Osborne and wife, Jean of Deland, FL Thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Devada A. Mutter will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Jimmy Cox officiating. Entombment will follow a the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be, Bill Earp, John Wilson, Gage Earp, Jim Jeffers, Cameron Wagner, Christian Wagner, Mike Allen, Jake Jeffers and Jonathan Thompson. Wayland Burrell will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will begin receiving friends, Monday evening at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
