Francis Lorraine Farquharson

Francis Lorraine Farquharson, age 95, of Richlands, Virginia, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, joined the angels, her husband, and three children on February 22, 2024, at 12:25 pm at the home of her daughter. Lorraine was born May 3, 1928, in Williamson, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles and Fern Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Farquharson; sons, Kent and Scott Farquharson; daughter, Janet; and brother, Danny Scott. Lorraine is survived by her loving daughter, Judy Fletcher of Richlands, Virginia; grandchildren, Eric Fletcher (Becky); Jennifer Fletcher Johnson; Wycliffe Farquharson (Lawrence Bell); Charlice Farquharson (fiancé, Josh Pile); Wilson Farquharson; Raeanna Farquharson (fiancé, Brady Smith); great-grandchildren, Graham Johnson; Avery Morgan Huffman; and Talia Reese Fletcher; and niece, Deborah Scott Doll. In addition, three daughters of the heart: Toni Lawson, Susie Maynard, and Mary Ann Strong as well as special friends, Clea and Linda Harris and Bettie Jessee; and former daughters-in-law, Shannon and Robin, are left to cherish her memory. She was a graduate of Matewan High School in Matewan, West Virginia. Lorraine moved to Richlands and into the hearts of all who knew her, in 1960. She started working as a Welcome Wagon hostess, a job she loved and was so well-suited to. Following that, she worked 30+ years for Mullins Enterprises, making many lifelong friends along the way. She was a member of the Richlands First Methodist Church and, although she was unable to attend church services any longer, she never missed watching Charles Stanley on Sunday mornings. The family wishes to thank the staff at Legacy Hospice, Inc. for their loving care and kindness. Lorraine was fortunate to have the best of the best taking care of her and she loved each and every one. Memorial services for Francis Lorraine Farquharson will be conducted Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 7:00 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Devin Shultz officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 7 pm on Sunday before the service at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
