Janelle Diane McClure

Janelle Diane Davidson McClure, age 62, of Tazewell, Virginia passed way Sunday, August 14, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. McClure was born on February 23, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska and was the daughter of the late Richard Rexford and Charlotte Lenore Monroe Davidson. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Janelle earned her Bachelor’s Degree in music at Brigham Young University in 1976 and has been instrumental in the lives of so many young musicians. She has trained and educated a wide variety of musicians. She was a talented violinist, she enjoyed classical music, quilting, sewing, an avid reader and enjoyed cooking. Janelle was affiliated with several organizations, she was president of the Tazewell County Music Club, a member of the Board for the Citizens for the Arts (CART), member of American String Teachers Association and a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americans. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS), Richlands Virginia Branch, Pembroke Virginia Stake, having served in various callings as a teacher of children, young and adult women and a music chairman. She is survived by: Her Husband of almost 40 years, Michael Grady McClure, married in the Manti Utah Temple of the Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1976. Five Daughters: Lora Jones and husband, Darren of Pembroke, VA Angela McClure of Harrisonburg, VA Heidi Munion and husband, David of White Bear Lake, MN Andrea McClure of Charlotte, NC Emily Fassett and husband, Christopher of Taylorsville, UT Three Sons: Jonathan McClure and wife, Mira of West Jordan, UT Daniel McClure and wife, Jennifer of Angier, NC Timothy McClure of San Francisco, CA Three Brothers: Douglas Davidson and wife, Spring of Windsor Heights, IA Brian Davidson and wife, Marcy of Johnston, IA John Davidson and wife, Michelle of Punta Gorda, FL Eight Grandchildren: Abigail McClure, Evelyn McClure, Lila McClure, Riley Munion, Joseph Munion, Henry Munion, Aurora Jones and Matthew McClure. A host of family and friends also survive. Funeral services for Janelle Diane Davidson McClure will be conducted at 10 am on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Bluefield LDS Meetinghouse in Bluefield, VA with President Jody K. Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Friends may call from 6pm until 9pm on Friday evening at the Bluefield LDS Meetinghouse, 122 Fairway Drive, Bluefield, VA.
