Joy Rebecca Osborne

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joy Rebecca Osborne lets it be known of her passing on Friday, April 21, 2023, after her long battle with cancer. Joy was born September 15, 1979, in Richlands, Virginia, and was the daughter of Jiles Hughes and Patricia Boyd Hughes. Her name said it all, Joy, because her heart was so full of joy. If you met her, you would be her friend immediately because she never knew a stranger. Her passion in life was taking care of others, she always wanted to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen to, and a heart full of love to give. She worked as a store manager for Dollar General and F&M Market and looked forward to meeting people and getting to know them. Her greatest joy was her family, she was a wonderful, daughter, wife, sister, mother, aunt, and friend. Joy was of the Baptist faith and a lifetime resident of the area. She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Susan Hughes. Those that remain to carry on her loving spirit are her: Parents, Jiles and Patricia Boyd Hughes of Swords Creek, VA Husband, Paul Osborne of Raven, VA Sons: Paul Wesley Osborne and Kaleb Mason Osborne, both of the home. Brothers: David “Dave” Hughes of Raven, VA Clifford “Cliff” Hughes and his wife, Cindy of Glade Springs, VA Richard “Rick” Hughes and companion Erin Mazurek of Latrobe, PA Mother-in-law, Ruth Smith of Raven, VA Sister-in-law, Paula Mullins and her husband, Teddy of Jewell Ridge, VA Special Friends who were dear to her heart, Debbie Clifton, Jenna Compton, Janice Ferrell, Vickie Messick and Melissa Lowe. Also surviving her are cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and too many friends to mention. The funeral service for Joy R. Osborne will be at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Hansonville Baptist Church 2064 US HWY 19 Lebanon, VA 24266, with the Rev. Jack Lyons and Bro. Josh Savage officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 6:00 pm Thursday evening prior to the service.
