Lacy Lee Horton

Lacy Lee Horton, age 86, of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee. Lacy was born on December 24, 1933 in Tazewell County, Virginia to the late Emory and Amanda McGlothlin Horton. He worked as a coal miner and state mine inspector. Mr. Horton’s life was going to church, singing and playing his guitar, farming his garden and going fishing. He attended Pisgah Holiness Church and Pine Creek Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Horton; and his sister, Wilma Jean Horton Hall. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Beulah Sisk Horton; Daughter, Edna Horton Vance and husband, Carl of Doran, Virginia; Son, Sonny Allen Horton and wife, Carolyn of Swords Creek, Virginia; Sisters-in-law: Dainer Richardson of Swords Creek, VA Clara Sisk of Swords Creek, VA Special niece, Brenda Horn Rose; Grandchildren, Angela Burton of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, Shawn Horton and wife, Tabitha of Swords Creek, Virginia, Dustin Horton and wife, Rebekah of Richlands, Virginia, Andrea Vance Musick and husband, Bradley of Swords Creek, Virginia, Sarah Horton of Oakwood, Virginia, John Lee Vance of Doran, Virginia; Great Grandchildren, Ashton, Nick, Tristan, Benson, Dallen Great Great-Grandchildren, Lacy Allen, Addy Special friend, Cleressa Ward A host of many friends also survive. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Bristol Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Lacy Lee Horton will be conducted at 1:00 pm on August 5, 2020 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Brother Mike Altizer and Brother Jim Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be John Lee Vance, Shawn Horton, Auston Horton, Dustin Horton, Harold Wilson, Junior Richardson, Ken Davis, and Bradley Musick. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the funeral home.
