Mary Margaret Jackson Settle

Mary Margaret Jackson Settle, age 91, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away at her home, Friday, December 19, 2014. She was one of three remaining children of the late Robert Eli Jackson and Nancy Jane Williams Jackson of Cedar Bluff, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Warren Settle (April 23, 1983) and Charles Harless (December 18, 2010); one sister, Eliza Harless; and eight brothers: George Jackson, Shular Jackson, Bill Jackson, John Jackson, Frank Jackson, Jim Jackson, Howard Jackson, and Luther Jackson. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richlands, Virginia, and was a former employee of Russell Manufacturing in Lebanon, Virginia. She is survived by two daughters: Martha Ellen Shamblin and husband, Robert, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia; Patsy Settle Hankins and husband, Marvin, of Richlands, Virginia; grandchildren: Stephanie Sherman and husband, Brook, of Hanscom AFB, MA; Dr. Bobbi Ellen Johnston and husband, Justin, of Madison, AL; Margaret Ellen Thomasson and husband, Arron, of Christiansburg, VA; and Jesse Hankins of Kingston Springs, TN; great grandchildren: Addison and Cade Sherman, Robert and Abigail Johnston, and Ethan Nowlin; family of Charles Harless: Jean Brooks, Rogersville, TN; Wayne Harless of Church Hill, TN; Ronald Harless of Mt. Carmel, TN; Jeff Harless of Church Hill, TN; two sisters, Hazel Harless of Johnson City, TN; and Rosa Quinn of Lynchburg, VA; and three sisters-in-law: Kathleen Settle, Diane Jackson, and Elaine Jackson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Special caregivers: Jonetta, Regina, Lisa, Legacy Hospice, and Jan Howell. Funeral services for Mary Margaret Settle will be conducted Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 2p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia, with the Rev. Betzy Elifrits Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens of Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Jesse Hankins, Justin Johnston, Brook Sherman, Arron Thomasson, David Jackson, Billy Jackson, Clinton Jackson, Lonnie Alsbrook, and Ethan Nowlin. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Robert Shamblin, Marvin Hankins, David Hatfield, Eddie Harless, and Herley Blankenship.
