Peggy Mullins Wagner

Peggy Mullins Wagner, age 85 of Tazewell, VA passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 17, 1933 in Paynesville, WV and was a daughter of the late Walker and Oma Allen Mullins. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in War, WV, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She attended Cross Point Ministries in Tazewell, when her health permitted. Peggy enjoyed working cross-word puzzles and watching her favorite television shows. She loved reading her Bible and crocheting. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who took pride in keeping her home presentable; she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wagner; one daughter, Diana Wagner Matney; infant grandson, Tyler Davidson; two brothers, Adison and Acie Mullins; one sister, Maggie Mullins Matney. Peggy is survived by four daughters, Betty Blankenship of Moyock, NC, Wilma Thomas and husband, Wayne of Troutman, NC, Carol Davidson and husband, Gregg of Hickory, NC and Brenda Ward of Tazewell, VA; three sons, Kenneth Wagner and wife, Linda of Tazewell, VA, Tommy Wagner and wife, Pamela of Patrick Springs, VA and Billy Wagner of Tazewell, VA; four sisters, Media Mckeehan of Elizabethton, TN, Macie Sessions of Jonesborough, TN, Lucille Horne of Abingdon, VA and Dacie Stacy of Hurley, VA; two brothers, Doliver Mullins of Paynesville, WV and Oliver Mullins of Abingdon, VA; twelve grandchildren, nine great – grandchildren; a host of other family members and friends also survive. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff of All-Care for Seniors of Cedar Bluff, VA for their care and support; special thank you to nurse, Vickie Stacy and caregivers, Pat Johnston and Allie Jones for their heart-felt compassion. Funeral services for Peggy Mullins Wagner will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Ministers Danny Hess and Jerry Keene officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Brian Lockhart, Jonathan Wagner, Christopher Wagner, Derek Wagner, Dustin Wagner and Taylor Monk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019.
