Queen Jackson

Mrs. Queen Victoria Jackson, age 87, of Jewell Ridge, Virginia, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Pine Creek, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Neeley Estil and Eva Victoria Richardson Vance. She had made her home in the Jewell Ridge area most of her life and was of the Presbyterian faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Cleveland Jackson; three sisters, Dorothy Childress, Ada Keen, and Betty Christian; three brothers, Clell, Jack, and Ershell Vance; and two grandchildren, Teresa McKinney and Henry Frazier Stevenson, III; and one great grandchild, Melissa Spring McKinney. Survivors: Four Daughters: Norma Judy Jackson McKinney and husband, Bev, Jr. of Whitewood, Virginia Rita Carol Jackson of Claypool Hill, Virginia Victoria Lynn Hyatt and husband, Gerald H. of Lexington, North Carolina Linda Sharron “Sherry” Jackson of Garden Creek, Virgini One Son: Grover James “Jim” Jackson and wife, Glenda K. of Pounding Mill, Virginia One Sister: Truedale Ringstaff and husband, Paul of Tazewell, Virginia One Brother: Rev. Trevert Vance and wife, Mae of Swords Creek, Virginia One Sister in Law: Dorothy Vance of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Eight Grandchildren: Dale McKinney and wife, Suzy; Donna Renae Damron, Darren McKinney and wife, Tammy; Michael Evan Pavisich; Debra Lynn Pavisich; Bryon Jackson; Victoria Leigh Jackson; and John William Aaron Norton Eight Great Grandchildren and Two Great-Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Queen Victoria Jackson will be conducted Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 2:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Jack Ward, Rev. Troy Lester, and Rev. Carl Hagy officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Bryon Jackson, Michael Pavisich, John Norton, Dale McKinney, Darren McKinney, and Jason Crouse. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Lawrence Jarvis, Gerald Hyatt, Junior McKinney, Debra Pavisich, Donna Damron, Leigh Jackson, MiAna Bond and Neyia Beavers. Friends may call after 6:00pm Wednesday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
