Roscoe "Hess" Reynolds

Roscoe Robert “Hess” Reynolds, age 75, of Pounding Mill, VA died Friday, February 25, 2011 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA. He was born July 5, 1935 at Swords Creek, VA and was a son of the late Charlie Edward Reynolds, Sr. and Carrie Vance Reynolds. He was a retired coal miner with Jewell Smokeless Coal Corporation. He was of the Holiness faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant grandson; four sisters, Anna Ruth Reynolds, Lona Viola Reynolds, Pauline Sargent and Willie Worsham; three brothers, Cecil Reynolds, Charlie Edward Reynolds, Jr. and Herman “Shade” Reynolds. Survivors include: His wife, Hattie Irene Grose Reynolds Four daughters, Mrs. Barbara Keen and husband, Larry of Cedar Bluff, VA, Mrs. Connie Fields and husband, Rick of Rosedale, VA, Mrs. Mildred Kidd and husband, Alan of Bluefield, VA and Mrs. Patsy Byrd and husband, William of Richlands, VA Three sons, Ronnie Reynolds and wife, Karen and John Reynolds, all of Wardell, VA and Ricky Reynolds and wife, Linda of Lebanon, VA One sister, Mrs. Marie Sawyers of Galax, VA Two brothers, Eugene Reynolds of Swords Creek, VA and Walter Reynolds of Wardell, VA One sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Reynolds of Richlands, VA One brother-in-law, Willie Sargent of Swords Creek, VA Twelve grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; Special caregivers, Dr. Sayhouni, the staff and nurses of Helping Hands and the nurses of the 4th floor of Clinch Valley Medical Center; and his special dog, Sammy Funeral services for Roscoe Robert “Hess” Reynolds will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2011 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Aldie Allen and the Rev. Jack Ward officiating. Burial will follow at the Stuart Memorial Cemetery on Kents Ridge near Swords Creek, VA. Pallbearers will be Jamie Perricllia, Matthew Perricllia, Mikah Dowdy, Glenn Cantrell, Austin Keen, Kevin Reynolds, Matthew Reynolds and Scotty Grose.
