Ruby Ann Necessary

On Monday, September 21, 2020 our dearest mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Ruby Ann Necessary age 93 of Tazewell, VA is safe in the arms of Jesus. Ruby was born in Tannersville, VA June 4, 1927 and was a daughter of the late Brady and Pearl Neal Vanhoozer. She married the love of her life, the late Joseph B. Necessary and to that union five children were born. Her family celebrates her beautiful life and the many memories she left for us to cherish. Ruby was known for her love and kindness that she showed to all. Her humble spirit and servants heart endeared her to everyone. She worked many years as a cook for the Tazewell County Public School System and retired from Tazewell High School. In addition to cooking for the children of Tazewell County, she spent many hours cooking and preparing food for functions at the Tazewell Christian Academy. Ruby loved music; sharing time with her family made her happy, laughing together as she looked for seashells on the beach. She enjoyed flowers, crocheting, cleaning and ironing. Mrs. Necessary was of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph B. Necessary; one son, Troy Allen Necessary; two brothers, Leroy Vanhoozer and Truby Vanhoozer. Those who remain to cherish her memory include four children, Ray Ann Betzares of Richmond, VA, Connie Lee McCall and husband, Ronnie of North Tazewell, VA, Lana Kay Necessary of Bristol, VA and Joseph B. “Butch” Necessary of Tazewell, VA; one sister, Mary Jane Perkins of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Melissa McCall-Burton and husband, Jeff of Abingdon, VA, Ronald Timothy McCall and wife, Lisa of Tazewell, VA, Johnathan Huff McCall and wife, Vickey of Sugar Grove, VA, Justin Coty McCall and wife, Jessika of North Tazewell, VA, Brittany Hill and husband, Justin of Glen Allen, VA, Bradley Necessary and wife, Kristina of Belair, OH, Alexandra Betzares and Aaron Michael Betzares both of Richmond, VA; great-grandchildren, Hunter McCall, Reese McCall, Rhett McCall, Lena Marie Necessary, Bella Hill and Brody Hill; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive. Funeral Services for Mrs. Ruby Necessary will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Reverend Daniel Fair officiating. Burial will follow at the Necessary Family Cemetery in Tannersville, VA. Pallbearers will be Timothy McCall, Justin McCall, Hunter McCall, Aaron-Michael Betzares, Jeff Burton, Butch Necessary, John McCall and Brad Necessary. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, September 24,2020.
