Viola Sharp Ball

Viola Sharp Ball, age 77 of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Abingdon Health and Rehab Center in Abingdon, Virginia. She was born in Russell County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Herbert Lee and Julie Gross Sharp. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Viola loved to spend time in her flower gardens, she grew a large assortment of every flower. She enjoyed reading and spent many hours reading a variety of papers, magazines and books. Her greatest joy was in spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was of the Pentecostal faith and had lived most of her life in the area. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Jennings Ball, Sr.; sisters, Donna Buckner, Lucille Sharp; brothers, George Sharp, Jackie Sharp; brother in Law, Ronnie Hess; niece, Audrey Rife. Those who survive her are: Sons: Ray William (Boke) Ball of Cedar Bluff, VA Randy Lee Ball of Moneta, VA Brian Keith Ball and wife, Samantha of Richlands, VA Sisters: Hazel (Sue) Hess and fiancé Jerry Meadows of Swords Creek, VA Mary Miller and husband, Randall of Rosedale, VA Nellie Royal of Doran, VA Stella Miller and husband, Bobby of Stewartsville, VA Brother, Ronnie Sharp and wife, Shelia of Rosedale, VA Special Friends, Darlene Whited and Burton Hurley Grandchildren, Katelyn Lynch, Hope Stevens, Hunter Ball, Dakota Ball, Haylee Ball and Lillyan Ball. Great grandchildren, Isabella Stevens, Bryson Lynch, Remington Lynch Step great grandchildren, Katie Lynch and Aalyiah Lynch. The funeral service for Viola Ball will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Barry Absher, Rev. Dennis White and Rev. Phillip Horton officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Ryan Osborne, Gregory Dye, Joshua Shelton, Dakota Ball, Hunter Ball and Brandon Lynch. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chester Whited and Jerry Meadows, The family will receive friends on Tuesday and Wednesday evening form 6-9 pm at the funeral home.
