Albert W. Arnold

Albert White Arnold, age 88, of Pounding Mill, VA drew his first breath in heaven on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in Tazewell, Virginia following a brief illness. He was born in Washington County, VA and was the son of the late Jacob and Nannie Price Arnold. Albert had worked for SVCC as a maintenance worker for many years. He was a dedicated farmer and had cultivated, harvested and cured a lot of tobacco in his time. When his children were young, they loved to watch him watch WWF Wrestling; because he would jib, jab and bounce around in his chair as the wrestlers fought. He enjoyed watching Andy Griffith, Hee Haw and listening to the older country singers. He and his favorite cane could be seen making the rounds about the farm every day, until the time came that he couldn’t. Albert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was a lifetime resident of the area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Marie Arnold; son, Albert Daniel Arnold; brothers, Millard Arnold, Paul Arnold and James Arnold. Those who remain to carry on his spirit are: His loving wife, Bethel Vencill Arnold of Pounding Mill, VA Daughters: Connie Asbury and husband, Ed of Tazewell, VA Sherry Chambers and husband, Jason of Pounding Mill, VA Sons: Harold Arnold and wife, Jackie of Pounding Mill, VA David Scott Arnold and wife, Amy of Cornelius, NC Grandchildren: Chris Arnold, Victoria Wyatt, Sabrina Yokum, Abram Arnold, and Jacob Arnold Great Grandchildren: Olivia Arnold, Benjamin Wyatt, and Alexis Wyatt A host of family and friends also survive. Funeral services for Albert White Arnold will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 12:00 -2:00 pm on Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
