Albert Johnson

Albert Lamar Johnson, age 55 of Richlands, VA passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at his home. He was born in Welch, West Virginia and was the son of the late Habron and Gladys Courts Johnson both West Virginia natives. He was a graduate of West Virginia Police Academy at Institute, West Virginia, in 1984. He was a disabled police officer for the Welch and War West Virginia Police Departments and had been Chief of the War Police Department for several years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lucy Johnson; and three brothers Habron Johnson Jr., Floyd Stewart, and Curtis Johnson. Survivors are: His Wife: Brenda Sue Griffith Five Sons: Adrian Johnson and wife, Frances of Richlands, Virginia Jeffrey Johnson and wife, Ruthie of Columbia City, Indiana Austin Johnson of Richlands, Virginia Devon Johnson of Richlands, Virginia Albert “A.J.” Johnson, Jr of Richlands, Virginia Two Daughters: Kellie Johnson of Richlands, Virginia Savannah Farley and husband, Brandon of Athens, West Virginia Two Sisters: Jeanette Stewart of Atlanta, Georgia Edith Stewart of Atlanta, Georgia Four Brothers: Robert Stewart and wife, Barbara of New York, New York Aaron Stewart of New York, New York Tyrone Johnson and wife, Cookie of Charleston, West Virginia William “Jackie” Johnson of Bluefield, West Virginia Special Nephews: Dooley Johnson and wife, Andrea and William Johnson Nine Grandchildren: Gabriell Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Seth Johnson, Noah Johnson, Illana Johnson, Amelia Johnson, Breanna Farley, Brandon Farley, Brenda Farley, Brent Farley Funeral Services for Albert Lamar Johnson will be conducted Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Craig Barber and Rev. Lacy Griffith officiating. Interment will be in the Hartwell Cemetery at Hartwell, West Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Adrian Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Austin Johnson, Devon Johnson, Albert Johnson, Dooley Johnson, and Cody Johnson.
