Alice Frances White

Ms. Alice Frances White, age 87, of Swords Creek, Virginia traveled to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 1, 2016 following a lengthy illness. She was born in Raven, Virginia and was the daughter of the late William Henry and Anna Mae Simmons Whitt. Alice was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Clinch Valley Medical Center for over 30 years. Alice’s greatest ambition in life was to bring people closer to the Savior and help them feel his love. She taught her children never to be afraid of hard work and to always rely on prayer, to consistently look upward for guidance. She was a member of the Horton Ridge Church of God and a lifelong resident of the area. She has now graduated from this life and is celebrating a reunion in Heaven with her parents, her husband, Roy J. White; brothers, Paul Whitt, Oris Southern, Otis Southern, Joe Southern; Daughter in Law, Linda White; grandson, Roy William White. Those who remain to carry on her loving and giving spirit are: Her Sons: Randal White and wife, Nola of Rosedale, VA Rev. Dennis White of Swords Creek, VA Glen White and wife, Melissa of Swords Creek, VA Sisters: Pauline Stillwell of North Tazewell, VA Nancy Thompson of Bristol, VA Special Caretakers, Nurses of Clinch Valley Medical Center Her grandchildren, Brian and Christina White, Angie and Duke Gray, Brad and Leigh-Ann White Great Grandchildren, Brett White, Tyler White, Megan Gray, Peyton Gray and Bailey White. A Home Going service for Alice Frances White will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Carter Wells officiating. Interment will follow at the McGraw Family Cemetery at Robinson Ridge near Swords Creek, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Brian White, Brett White, Bradley White, James Gray, Tyler White and Ronnie Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Lowe, Pablo Cruz, Ed Messick and Kelly Hill. The family will be receiving friends from 6-9 pm on Saturday evening at the funeral home.
