Anna Lee Boyd Horne

Anna Lee Horne, age 87, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Carilion New River Valley Hospital in Christiansburg, Virginia. Anna was born in Russell County, Virginia, on March 30, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Dewey Boyd and Lealer Vance Boyd. She was a dedicated Baptist who loved her family above all else, leaving a legacy as a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Anna was best known for her perky attitude and her unwavering honesty. True to herself and honest to a fault, she never held back and always told you exactly what she thought. If she liked you, she told you, and she would definitely let you know if she didn’t. Beyond her vibrant personality, Anna was a talented crafter who enjoyed crocheting doilies and creating many other beautiful items. In her quieter moments, she loved spending time in her garden, working on word searches, and relaxing with adult coloring books. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hubert Randolph Horne; brothers, Alfred Lee Boyd, Roger Houston Boyd, James Homer Boyd, and Garry Perry Boyd; her son-in-law, Jerry Short; and her sister, Billie Ruth Vance. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Teresa Lynn Short of Clarksville, Tennessee; Her sons, Randall Lee Horne and wife Barbara of Dover, Tennessee, and Jeffery Lee Horne and wife Robin of Pilgrims Knob, Virginia. Her sister, Connie Barnett, and her husband, Sammy of North Tazewell, VA She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jonathan Horne, Sara Horne, and Matthew Horne; her great-grandchildren, Benjamin Hayes, Noah Hayes, and Titus Hayes; and several loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A private graveside service for Anna Lee Horne will be conducted at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia.
