Annie Brown

Mrs. Annie Lorrene Brown, age 81, of Doran, Virginia, died Monday, November 8th, 2004 at a Richlands, Virginia hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Pike County, Kentucky and was a daughter of the late Joe and Polly Prater Hess, both Pike County natives. She was a lifelong resident of the Doran area and was a member of the Road Ridge Pentecostal Church at Raven, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Claude H. Brown, two daughters, Phyllis Brown and Gladys Boyd; three sisters, Margaret Hess and Cleo Craighead; five brothers, Arvil, Balford, Ted, Willie, and Ernest Hess; one precious grandson, Matthew Jeffrey, and one precious granddaughter, Norma Jean Clifton. Survivors are: Four Daughters: Mrs. Doris Sanders and husband, Randy of Raven, Virginia Mrs. Judy Woodall and husband, Warren of Niceville, Florida Mrs. Evelyn Hunter Jennings of Forest City, North Carolina Mrs. Billie Jeffrey of the home Four Sons: Mr. Roger Brown and wife, Princess of Raven, Virginia Mr. Steve Brown and wife, Linda of Lebanon, Virginia Mr. Tommy Brown and wife, Teresa of Raven, Virginia Mr. Donnie Brown and wife, Kitty of Claypool Hill, Virginia Three Sisters: Mrs. Mary Richardson of Swords Creek, Virginia Mrs. Peggy Griffith of Raven, Virginia Mrs. Dolly Hamblin of Baltimore, Maryland Four Brothers: Rev. Earl Hess of Raven, Virginia Mr. Dallas Hess of Raven, Virginia Mr. Joe Dale Hess of Baptist Valley, Virginia Rev. Jessie Hess of Raven, Virginia Granddaughters: Angela, Melissa, Teresa, Sherry, Chastity, Stephanie, Donna, Tiffany, Sandy, and Vickie. Grandsons: Ronnie, Darrel, Roger, Jr., Eddie, Keith, Randy, Kenneth, and Dwayne. Great Granddaughters and Grandsons: Roger Eugene, Cimarron, Mike, Meagan, Brody, Molly, Ben, Jessica, Kaylee, Jacob, Cora, Heath, Hannah, and Clinton. Several great great grandchildren and many friends and loved ones also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Lorrene Brown will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with Rev. Mike Justice and Rev. Tracy Puckett officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
