Barbara Ann Buskill

Barbara Ann Buskill age 76, of Richlands, Virginia Angels gathered on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Buskill Avenue in Richlands, Virginia waiting to escort their newest Angel, Barbara Ann Buskill into the arms of Jesus. She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Lloyd C. and Gertrude Elizabeth Lowe Buskill. Barbara was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1958 and then attended the National Business College in 1961. She then began working for Persinger Inc. and taking classes at Virginia Intermont College where she attained her business degree. Barbara then began taking classes at Virginia Tech and earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. In 1969, she was hired as an Administrative Assistant to Dr. Charles King, former president of SWCC, where she worked 37 years until her retirement in 2006. Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Richlands, Virginia where she was a member of the choir, the Seekers Sunday School Class, various circles, and helped with the FUMC Deli. Barbara was reunited with her parents; her brother, Lloyd Campbell Buskill; and her lifelong companion, Kirby Cole, who had preceded her in death. Even though Barbara was never married, she was very instrumental in the lives of Erik, Renata, Nikki and Nicklas Sargent. Also surviving her are: Sister, Anita Sargent and husband, Buck of Richlands, VA Brother, Larry Buskill of Salem, VA Nieces, Marie Miller and Cynthia Allen Several Great Nieces and Nephews also survive Special Caregivers: Becky Belcher and her Methodist Women Crew; the SWCC Women Crew; Helping Hands Nursing Care & Hospice; Teresa, Heather, and Tiffany. Also thank Johnny McCracken for all his support and help. A celebration of life service will be conducted Monday, October 10, 2016 at 6:30pm at the First United Methodist Church in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Betzy Elifrits Warren officiating. Friends may call from 5:45pm until 6:30pm on Monday evening at the church and at the home of Anita and Buck Sargent, 710 Buskill Ave, Richlands, VA.
