Betty Lois Kennedy Cook Betty Lois Sewart Kennedy Cook age 77 of War, West Virginia was at home, surrounded by her loving family as she drew her last breath here on earth and her first breath in heaven on Saturday, January 18, 2020. Betty was born in Jewell Valley, Virginia on November 14, 1942 and was the daughter of the late, Willard Stewart and Leola Wimmer Stewart Glick and step-father, Bill Glick. She had attended Whitewood High School, married her sweetheart, William Earl Kennedy and was happily married to him for 62 years before he passed away. Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was of the Pentecostal faith and had lived most of her life in the surrounding counties. In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Timmy Kennedy Sr.; daughter, Amanda Beth Kennedy Hicks; sister, Laura Frances Grose; brother, Gerald Glick; granddaughter, Brittany Lois Lowery; great grandson, Blake Gilbert. Those that remain to carry o her spirit are her: Husband, Donald G. Cook Children: Sherri (Leroy) Lowery of Rural Retreat, VA Robin Kaye (Ace) Hughes of Bishop, VA Randy (Juanita) Kennedy of Bishop, WV Frankie (Kenneth) Hicks of War, WV Lori (Billy) Mullins of War, WV Della Louvina (Albert) Matney of Newhall, WV Sara Kennedy and fiancée Anthony Sparks of War, WV Son-in-law, Mark Hicks of War, WV Daughter-in-laws, Deborah Kennedy of Gastonia, NC Juanita Kennedy Jordan of Berwind, WV Brothers: Marshall (Ann) Glick of Adkins, VA Allen (Pearl June) Glick of Rural Retreat, VA Special Friend, Sam Winters Brother-in-law, Floyd Grose Sister-in-law, Carol Glick Also surviving are 34 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. Betty will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. The funeral service for Betty Kennedy Cook will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Berwind Pentecostal Christian Center in Berwind, West Virginia with the Rev. Rick Muncey and Rev. Randy Campbell, II officiating. Interment will follow at the Hartwell Cemetery in Hartwell, West Virginia. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Senters, Michael Mullins, Billy Mullins, Isaiah Riffe, Kenneth Hicks, Derek Grose, Cody Lowery, Shaun Kennedy, David Hicks, Bobby Mullins, Justin Lowery, Jody Hicks and Shane Matney. The family will begin receiving friends at the Church on Friday evening, January 24, 2020 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm.
