Betty Lee Marrs Rose

Betty Lee Rose, age 73 of Bandy, VA died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA. She was born April 12, 1942 in McDowell County, WV and was a daughter of the late Braxton Duncan Marrs and Della Lou Dye Marrs. She was a caring homemaker and loving mother, who enjoyed being with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Rose; one son, Steven Rose; one sister, Bertha Bowman. Those who survive to cherish her memory include one daughter, Sandra Lynn Rose of Bandy, VA; two sons, Michael Rose and wife, Christy and Jesse Rose, both of Tazewell, VA; three sisters, Helen McBride of Ceres, VA, Clara Baker of North Tazewell, VA and Freda Eldreth and husband, William of Tazewell, VA; one brother, Braxton Duncan Marrs, Jr. of Tazewell, VA; ten grandchildren, Derrick Edmond Rose and wife, Emily, Virginia Crystal Rose, Michaela Rose, Kinza Lauren Carpenter and husband, Todd Shores, Cary Grace Wright and husband, Derek, Alyssa Dawn Carpenter, Jacob Thomas Carpenter, Elizabeth Ann Carpenter, Heaven Faith Rose, Leslie Robinett and husband, Gage; four great grandchildren Toni Lauren Rose, London Rose, Kinsley Robinett and Easton Robinett; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive. The family will receive friends at the Hurst – Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA from 6 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2016, where funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronnie Marrs officiating. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, February 24 at 2:00 PM at the Brewsterdale Church Cemetery in Brewsterdale, WV. Pallbearers will be Wayne Baker, Randy Baker, Scott Boyer, Jimmy Sparks, Derek Wright, Derick Rose, Elizabeth Carpenter and Jacob Carpenter.
