Bill Willie Stiltner

Bill Willie Stiltner, age 89, of Jewell Ridge, VA, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA. Bill was born on September 6, 1931 in Buchanan County, VA and was the son of the late Claude Dorsey and Flosa Stiltner of Buchanan County, VA. He served our country in the US Army during the Korean War and was a retired coal miner. He lived in the Jewell Ridge, VA area for 27 years where he was a member of the Jewell Ridge Presbyterian Church for those 27 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters, Sally Beverly, and Sue Stiltner; and four brothers, Lassie Stiltner, Arthur Stiltner, Dorsey Stiltner and Schuler Stiltner. He is survived by: His Wife, June Rife Stiltner Daughters: Linda Yates and husband, Allen of Coeburn, VA Becky Scales and husband, Thomas of Coeburn, VA Nell Stiltner and companion, Dale of Hurley, VA Son, Randy Stiltner and wife, Barb of Hurley, VA Stepsons: Danny Stiltner and wife Shannon Scottie Stiltner and wife, Brenda Curtis Stiltner Sisters: Josie Morrow of Abingdon, VA Virginia Lee of Baptist Valley, VA Ocie Wasaleursie of New Jersey Grandchildren, Kara Yates, T. J. Scales and Shalyn Meadows; great grandchildren, Emma Burks, Jax Garrett and Candace Blankenship; and ten step grandchildren. Special friends, the Senior Citizens of Whitewood, VA; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services for Bill Willie Stiltner will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Malcolm Stuart officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 29, 2021 at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum #4, at Claypool Hill, VA. Those attending the committal service are asked to meet at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Short, Edward Farmer, Jasper Reynolds, Daina Reynolds, Randy Stiltner, Kevin Dailey, Jeff Horn, and Ken Mitchell. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Members of the Casey-Shortt VFW Post #9640 will conduct military graveside rites at the cemetery.
