Billie Faye McGraw

Billie Faye McGraw, age 71 of Cedar Bluff, Virginia ended her long courageous battle with breast cancer on Monday, August 8, 2016. She was born in Swords Creek, Virginia and was the daughter of the late William James “Bill” and Hazel Dye Miller. Billie was a graduate of Honaker High School Class of 1963. She had dedicated her life to caring for her family, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She spent her time doing her favorite hobby, shopping. Her favorite saying was “shop till you drop”, and she did. The joy and light of her life were her family, she loved being with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Paintlick Homemakers Club for many years and was of the Methodist faith. She was a lifetime resident of the area and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by: Her loving husband, Paul McGraw of Cedar Bluff, VA Daughter, Paula McGraw of Abingdon, VA Son, Joseph McGraw and wife Leann of Pounding Mill, VA Sisters: Judy Ferguson of Honaker, VA Doris Butcher of Effland, NC Grandchildren, Peyton Spencer, Garrett Spencer, Kayla McGraw, Brantley McGraw, Amelia McGraw and step-grandchildren, Chelsie Davis and Ethan Davis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and host of friends. A special thanks to the staff of Island Road Oncology, Bristol Wellmont and the Nicewander Center. The funeral service for Billie McGraw will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dale Keen and Rev. Phillip Horton officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Shortridge, Jerry Brewster, Larry Belcher, Ronnie Taylor, Eric Brooks and Scott Gentry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Jerry Miller, Bob Sayers, Danny Jennelle, Chris Sayers, Jeff Sayers, Harvey Coleman and Harold Cordle. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-9 pm.
