Bobby Eugene McGraw

Bobby Eugene McGraw, age 69 of Richlands, Virginia was gently lifted into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 24, 2016. He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Franklin and Josie Plaster McGraw. He was a Richlands High School Class of 1966 graduate. Bobby was a former employee for A&P Grocery and Kroger Grocery for many years before retiring. He was a dedicated member of the Richlands Tabernacle for 47 years and was a member of the Woodmen of the World Ins., Lodge 404. He was a lifelong resident of Richlands area. Bobby was a gentle soul, quiet in spirit, but of great faith. He lived his life as a man of God, and now his spirit soars with the angels. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, his brother, John Lee McGraw; Mother-in-law, Allie Hess and by his special Mother/Aunt, Fonnie Noel whom he dearly loved. Those who remain to carry on his spirit are: His loving wife of 47 years, Barbara Hess McGraw of Richlands, VA His son, Brian McGraw of Richlands, VA His Father-in-Law, Brady Hess of Richlands, VA Sister, Oma Gay Shaw of Cherry Valley, CA Half-Sisters: Linda Jessee and husband Barry of Swords Creek, VA Shirley Cruey and husband David of Richlands, VA Sherry Dales and husband Lloyd of Lebanon, VA Half Brothers: Frankie “Tank” McGraw Jr. of Claypool Hill, VA Jackie Mabe of Richlands, VA He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. The funeral service for Bobby Eugene McGraw will be conducted at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 28 at The Richlands Tabernacle in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Phillip Horton, Brother David Horton and Bro. Bob Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Steve Vencill, Jim Ed Lambert, Johnny Rowe, Chester Rowe. Bobby Alicie, Vonley Pruitt, Gary Hess and Fred Rowe. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of the Richlands Tabernacle, Jim Richardson, Dennis White, Eddie Street, Johnny Rex Ward, Danny Firl Hess, Noah Boyd, Don Boyd, Teddy Monk, Cecil Hess, Eddie Baldwin, Gerald McAlister, Darrell Hess, Herbert Jamison, Keith Harris, Jeffrey Tiller and former employees of the A&P and Kroger Stores. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening beginning at 6:00pm until 9:00pm, with a song service at 7:00pm at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home. A one hour visitation will be held prior to the service at 2:00pm on Thursday at the church.
