Carolyn Baldwin Scott

Carolyn Baldwin Scott, age 77 of Tazewell, VA passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Carillion Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA. She was born October 31, 1943 at Newhall, WV and was a daughter of the late Everett Glenn and Pearly Mae Brewster Baldwin. Carolyn was a 1961 Graduate of Tazewell High School and worked the majority of her life in the banking business with the accounting department and as a teller. Her smile would warm your heart on the coldest of days. She was a member of the Red Hatters, WIN, Mending Hearts and the former El Bethel Church in Baptist Valley, VA. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Jefferson Scott; her son, Mark Scott; three sisters, Loraine Stillwell, Corennia Lane and Lucy Newman; two brothers, George and Frank Baldwin. Those who survive to cherish her memory include her daughter, Tammy Phillips and husband, Greg of Tazewell, VA; three sisters, Julia Smith of Tazewell, VA, Dolly Crocket of Ohio and Joan Anders and husband, Mike of Marion, VA; one brother, Allen Baldwin of North Tazewell, VA; four grandsons, Trey Phillips, Victor, Derek and Dylan Scott; a host of nieces and nephews, other family members and friends also survive. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the professional staff of Tazewell Community Hospital for their gentle care of Mrs. Scott in her time of need. Funeral services for Mrs. Scott will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Pastor Chris White and Rev. Sammy Barnette officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
