Charles W. Price

Charles W. Price, age 84, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Tazewell County, Virginia and was the son of the late Charlie and Ada Durham Price. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Charles was a hardworking man who loved to stay busy. He never knew a stranger, found great joy in playing pranks and telling jokes. Making homemade apple butter and gardening were two of his favorite past times. Charles worked for Beta Shoe in Maryland in the 1960’s and then as a machinist for many years at S&S/Long Airdox/ Simmons Rand until he retired in the early 90’s. He had attended the Bandy Assembly of God and was a lifelong resident of the area. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Naomi Ruth Lawson Price; brothers, James Price, and Clyde Price; Sisters, Stella Brewster, Nellie Brewster, and Julie Kennedy. Survivors are: Daughter: Fannie Farmer and husband, Michael of Bristol, Virginia Sons: Robert Charles Price and spouse, Tom Roberts of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Derek J. Price of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Sister-in-law, Ruth Price of Cleveland, Ohio Grandchildren: Sarah Beth Endicott and Samantha Lynn Farmer Great Grandchildren: Chelsea Endicott and Will Endicott Special canine companion, Buddy Special thanks to the staff of Helping Hands Hospice. The funeral service for Charles W. Price will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Wayne Mullins officiating. Interment will follow at the Mtn. View Methodist Cemetery in Abingdon, Virginia. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00 am on Thursday Morning until time of service.
