Charles Edward White

Charles Edward White, age 58 of Marion, VA passed away at his home, Saturday, December 12, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 5, 1962 in Welch, WV and was a son of the late Grant White, Sr. and JoAnn Owens White. Charles had worked for many years as an assemblyman with Utility Trailer. He enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and spending time with his family. Mr. White was a member of the Pugh Mountain Freewill Baptist Church in Marion, VA. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Florida White; an infant brother, Grant White, Jr. Those who survive to cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty years, Zella White; two daughters, Tisha Ann White and Brittany Nikol White and companion and caregiver, Cecil Lee Bowman, both of Marion, VA; three sisters, Virginia Prater and husband, Jerry of Bluefield, WV, Violet Golden of Alderson, WV and Audrey Golden and husband, Bruce of Bartley, WV; one brother, Doug White and wife, Tina of Marion, VA; self-proclaimed grandchildren, Abby, Hannah, Tabby and his best Pal, Ana “Mae-Mae” Perkins; special niece, Jessica Perkins and husband, James of Marion, VA; two special great-nieces, Bella and Hailey Rose, both of Atwell, WV; special great-nephew, Ayden Baker of Anderson, WV; special friends, Mike and Annette Snead and Bobby and Thelma Hagerman, all of Bartley, WV and Miss Reba Hutton of Marion, VA; his best friend and four-legged companion, Doc; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. White will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Jesus Church of Bartley with the Rev. Spencer Oxford and the Rev. Pete Woods officiating. In honoring Mr. White’s wishes, his earthly body will be cremated following the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the Church Monday, December 14, 2020 after 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request love offerings and memorial donations be made to Hurst-Scott Funeral Home of Tazewell: 870 Main Street, Tazewell, VA 24651, to assist the family financially during their time of loss.
