Charlotte Wilovene Waddell

Charlotte Wilovene Waddell, age 75 of North Tazewell, VA died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Pulaski, VA. She was born September 26, 1938 at Pounding Mill, VA and was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Mulkey and Vivian Trivitt Mulkey. She was a 1956 Graduate of Tazewell High School and had worked many years as a cashier for Mitchem Enterprises. She was a hardworking lady with a big heart, who always provided for her family. When she wasn’t working she loved reading her Bible, work cross-word puzzles and spoil her children and grandkids. Mrs. Waddell was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Linkous Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Madison Waddell; daughter-in-law, Tammy Waddell. Those left to cherish her memories include her children, Elaine East and husband, Jeff of Pulaski, VA, Andy Waddell of Munford, AL, Rita Waddell and fiancé, James Coffey of Pounding Mill, VA, Virginia Turpin and husband, Eddie of North Tazewell, VA and Adam Waddell and wife, Sue Ellen of Leckie, WV; three brothers, Kenneth Mulkey and wife, Rachael, and Nelson Mulkey and wife, Mary, both of North Tazewell, VA and Raymond Mulkey and wife, Nancy of Bluefield, VA; sixteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Wilovene Waddell will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2013 at the Hurst – Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Rev. Jonah Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Lelan East, Jeffery East, Cory Turpin, Robert Wilcox, Scotty Mulkey, Andy Waddell and Adam Waddell. Eddie Turpin, James Coffey and Jeff East will serve as honorary pallbearers.
