Daisy "Miss Daisy" Brewster

Daisy Layne “Miss Daisy” Brewster, age 69 of North Tazewell, VA passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. She was born February 26, 1944 at Wythe County, VA and was a daughter of the late Robert G. and Ruth Blessing Layne. Daisy was a Graduate of George Wythe High School, Class of 1962 and received a specialized Associates Degree from McLane’s Business College in Bluefield. Daisy was a former Bookkeeper with Bluegrass Oils in North Tazewell, and was serving as Church Secretary for the Tazewell Christian Church in Tazewell, VA. Mrs. Brewster was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star #187 in Tazewell, VA and was currently serving as secretary. Daisy was of the Christian faith and was an active member of the Tazewell Christian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Von Brewster; one brother, Bobby Layne. Those left to cherish her memories include her loving husband of fifty years, Paul V. Brewster; one sister, Mary Katherine Lambert and husband, Cecil of Wytheville, VA; three special nephews, Cecil Kelly Lambert and wife, Donna of Wilkesboro, NC, Kirby Lambert and wife, Lisa of Wytheville, VA and Kevin Lambert and wife, Kim of Rural Retreat, VA; one grand-niece, Kayla Lambert; one grand-nephew, Brady Lambert; sister-in-law, Melanie Fraley and husband, Charles of Roanoke, VA; two nephews; two nieces; several grand-nieces and grand-nephews; adopted family members whom she loved as children and grandchildren, Joe and Carla Cline of North Tazewell, VA and their children, Nathan and Gracie Cline; a very special friend who was like a sister, Carol Baker of Tazewell, VA; and many friends. Funeral services for Daisy Layne “Miss Daisy” Brewster will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Tazewell Christian Church in Tazewell, VA with the Rev. Michael Stump officiating. Funeral Rites for the Order of the Eastern Star will be conducted by Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron, Sue and Bruce Richardson and members of the Order of the Eastern Star #187 in Tazewell, VA. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery in Wytheville, VA. Pallbearers will be Ron Thompson, John Mundy, Jack Hawks, Jim Kulchar, Kirby Lambert, Kevin Lambert, Kelly Lambert, Raymond Walker and Garner Monk. Men and women of the Order of the Eastern Star #187 will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Tazewell Christian Church after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013.
