David Lee Jennelle

David Lee Jennelle, age 68, of Bastian, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at his home. David was born in Richlands, VA, on May 12, 1954, in Richlands, VA, and was the son of the late Julian Jennelle Jr and Virginia Madge Campbell Jennelle. David was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Rocky Gap Methodist Church, where he was a willing servant of the Lord and loved to help with anything needed at the church, from sealing the parking lot to putting on a new roof. David just loved being of assistance. He served on different committees at the church, was a Sunday School teacher, and sang in the choir. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry work, working on cars, and going to the gym. He graduated from Richlands High School in 1972, and then continued his education at Virginia Tech, where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in 1976. He retired from the United Central Industrial Supply Company as the Regional Manager. He was a great advisor to all who knew him and will be missed tremendously. In addition to his parents, David was preceded by two sisters, Gwen Joyce and Dixie “Billy” Blankenship, and three brothers, Claude “Benson” Bell, Michael Wayne Bell, and Philip Douglas Jennelle. Those that remain to carry on his spirit are his: Loving wife of 35 years, Catherine “Diane” Sisson Jennelle of Bastian, VA Sister: Kitty Brown and husband, Donnie, of Claypool Hill, VA Brother: Julian Jennelle and wife, Dinah, of Richlands, VA Special Nephews: Blake Jennelle, Brandon Jennelle, and Landyn Jackson Numerous loving nieces, nephews, and friends also survive him. The funeral service for David Lee Jennelle will be Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Rocky Gap Methodist Church in Rocky Gap, VA, with Reverend Rodney Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, VA. His family and friends will serve as pallbearers. His special nephews, Blake Jennelle, Brandon Jennelle, and Landyn Jackson, will be honorary pallbearers. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 21st, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. for friends and family at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home of Tazewell, VA, and also on Wednesday, March 22nd from 12 noon until the hour of the funeral service at Rocky Gap Methodist Church.
