Dennis Ray "Rick" Noel

Dennis Ray “Rick” Noel, age 73 of North Tazewell, VA died Friday, July 5, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. He was born November 30, 1945 at Ashland, VA and was the son of the late Myrtle Shepherd Noel. Rick was a lifelong resident of Tazewell County, VA and was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Barns-Beavers VFW Post #7136 in Tazewell, VA. He worked as a coal miner and electrician for Buchanan Mines #1, retiring with over 30 years of service. Mr. Noel was a member of Tazewell Masonic Lodge #62 where he had served in many capacities, to include Worshipful Master. He was a member of the O’Keeffe Royal Arch Chapter and the Clinch Valley Commandery of Knights Templar, having served as High Priest and Commander. Rick was also a very proud member of the Shrine. Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing when his health permitted and loved doing shade tree mechanic work. He enjoyed his farm animals and raising horses. Rick was a member of Tazewell Christian Church; had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. He will be greatly missed by his family and many Brothers and friends. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by one brother, Jeff Noel. Those who survive to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Patricia Anderson Noel; daughter, Crystal Denise Noel of Abingdon, VA; three sisters, Barbara Ann Lithaco of Richmond, VA, Jeanette Reep of North Carolina and Freda McDaniel of Bramwell, WV; several nieces and nephews; a host of Masonic Brothers and many friends also survive. Funeral Services for Dennis Ray “Rick” Noel will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Pastor Chris White officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. The Brethren of Tazewell Masonic Lodge #62 will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Greever Asbury and Larry Owens. Masonic Rites will be conducted by members of the Tazewell Masonic Lodge #62. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by members of the Barns-Beavers VFW Post #7136 in Tazewell, VA.
