Donald Edward Neel

Donald Edward Neel age 77 of the Dry Fork Community of North Tazewell, VA died Monday, January 14, 2019 at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA. He was born May 24, 1941 at Bishop, VA and was a son of the late Luther Edward and Ora Ellen Rudd Neel. Donald attended Tazewell High School and was a self employed truck driver. He was of the Church of God faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, one son, Gary Wayne Neel; three sisters, Mary Ann Neel, Geraldine Neel and Yvonne McCoy; two brothers, Roger Neel and Ronnie Neel; one great-granddaughter, Aspyn. Those who survive to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Alice Faye Neel; three daughters, Theresa Lynn Sargent and husband, Jeff of Tazewell, VA, Debra Ellen Meadows and husband, Ronnie of North Tazewell, VA and Jenny Rebbecca Whittaker and husband, Ed of Princeton, WV; one son, Wesley Thomas Neel and wife Stephanie of Anderson Creek, NC; two sisters, Delorse Smith of North Tazewell, VA and Wanda Downing and husband, James of Amelia, VA; two brothers, Dallas Neel of Lynchburg, VA and Jerry Neel and wife, Sandra of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Donnie Lee Wayne Neel, James Coty Neel, Cara Mae Neel, Elizabeth Sargent Crawford, Trevor, Aaron and Mason Sargent, Joshua, Stephanie and Lindsey Ferguson, Bailey and Katie Neel and Abigail Meadows; thirteen great-grandchildren and one on the way in March, 2019; several nieces; nephews; other family members and friends also survive. Funeral Services for Donald Edward Neel will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Reverend Kenny Fields and Reverend Mark Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Donald Neel, James Coty Neel, Trevor Sargent, Aaron Sargent, Mason Sargent and Joshua Ferguson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
