Doris Lee McReynolds

Doris Lee McReynolds, age 83, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Tazewell Community Hospital. Her family is deeply saddened by her sudden death but knows that she is dancing with abandon on the streets of heaven. Doris was born March 1, 1941, on a hill in Cucumber, West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Clifford Crisp and Alma Lucille Musick Crisp. She graduated from Tazewell High School and had worked as a bookkeeper/tax accountant for H&R Block for many years. Doris had a passion for Motown music and dancing, sewing, and painting in which she found comfort and peace in finding beauty in things and using it to express herself. She was strong-willed, yet sensitive and compassionate, open-minded, fair and loving. All these talents and traits defined Doris as an individual. They were part of who she was, and her strength undoubtedly helped her face life’s challenges. She made an impact on many lives, and she will forever be missed. Those who went before Doris were her parents and two brothers, Clifford Ellis Crisp and Donald Crisp. Carrying on her loving spirit are her: Loving husband of 65 years, Jerry McReynolds of North Tazewell, VA Her children whom she felt were her greatest accomplishment: Rhonda M. Glocke and her husband Jim, of Charlotte, NC Jerry D. McReynolds and his wife, Marybeth, of Tazewell, VA Shawn McReynolds and his wife, Stephanie of Tazewell, VA Her legacy will forever be carried on by grandchildren: Ryan Hughes, Amanda Hammers and her husband, Scott, Evan Hughes and his wife, Kassidy, Brandon McReynolds, Brianne McReynolds and Annie McReynolds Great grandchildren, Luke Scott, Hayzel Addaire, Penelope James, and Kannen Lane McReynolds. Doris McReynold's funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell, Virginia with the Rev. Gerald Humphries officiating. Interment will follow at the Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
