Edgar Colley

Mr. Edgar Clyde Colley, age 67, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital following a sudden illness. He was born in Buchanan County and was the son of the late Bruce and Doshia Coleman Colley. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a retired miner from Colley Coal Company. He was a graduate of Honaker High School Class of 1960 and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia State University in 1984. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran having been stationed on the USS Independence. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Sandra Colley; one sister, Mildred Colley; and two brothers, Jessie Coleman and Dempsey Colley. Survivors are: Two Daughters: Jeani Tetlow and husband, Roman of Claypool Hill, Virginia Misty Deel and husband, Matthew of Wardell, Virginia Two Sons: Mark Colley and partner, John W. Brown, Jr. of Stuart, Florida Timothy Colley of Stanton, Virginia Special Lady whom he raised like his own daughter: Patricia Bailey Five Sisters: Fern Suits of Evergreen, Alabama; Ruth Schulz of Macon, Georgia; Shirley Hackett of Piney Flats, Tennessee; Sara Miller of Honaker, Virginia; and Emalene Cook of Lebanon, Virgini One Brother: Billy Colley of Honaker, Virginia Special Friend: Ruth Marshall Five Grandchildren: Michael Paul Hodges; Mikayla Vandyke, Adrianna Hodges, Jordan Vandyke, Derek Deel Funeral services for Edgar Clyde Colley will be conducted Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 1:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Evangelist Bob Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: James Bailey, Dwight Miller, John W. Brown, Jr., Roman Tetlow, Tony Mosley, and Matthew Deel.
