Edgar Horn Ratliff

Mrs. Edgar Mae Horn Ratliff age 90, formerly of Buchanan County Virginia , and has lived in the Maxwell area for the past 37 years, was at her home surrounded by her love ones when she went to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 22, 2005 following a brief illness. She was born in Buchanan County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Cam Henry and Nancy Keen Horn, both Buchanan County natives. She had attended the New Hope Assembly in Claypool Hill, Virginia In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Ratliff, two son-in-laws, Rages Matney and Scotty Lambert; Brothers, Charles, Ellis, Herbert, Jess and Noah Horn; Sisters, Lula Horn, Ida Horn Ward, Julie Horn Keen, and Myrtle Horn Walker, She was survived by: Six Daughters: Marie Matney and husband Basil of Richlands, Virginia Phyllis Matney of Oakwood, Virginia Martha Lambert of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Jan White and husband Jerry of Richlands, Virginia Sue Howington of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Doris Parks and husband Rondal of Grundy, Virginia Three Sons: Bueford Ratliff and wife Peggy of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Arvil Ratliff and wife Zella of Oakwood, Virginia Arnold Ratliff and wife Gail of Patterson, Virginia Sisters: Lola Ward Williams and husband David of Richlands, Virginia Creda Horn of Pilgrims Knob, Virginia Also surviving her were 18 grandchildren, 29 Great-grandchildren and 5 Great-great ?grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special sister-in-law Pearl Caldwell of Columbus, Ohio. Funeral Services for Mrs. Edgar Mae Horn Ratliff will be Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 1:00 pm at the New Hope Assembly Church at Claypool Hill, Virginia with the Rev. Claudie Throgmartin, Rev. Rondal Parks, and Rev. Seth White officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens located at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Grandsons-in-laws. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Hoops, R.D. Ratliff, Doug Coleman, Bob Wade and the men of New Hope Assembly. Friends may call after 6:00 pm on Monday night at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia. Mrs. Ratliff will be taken the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
