Elden Meadows

Elden Todd Meadows, age 44 of Lebanon, Virginia passed way, Friday July 25, 2008 in Buchanan County, VA due to injuries in a coal mining accident. Todd was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of Tivis Meadows and Molly Altizer Horn Meadows of Pounding Mill, VA. He was raised in Buchanan County and was a graduate of the 1982 Class of Garden High School . Todd was a coal miner and roof bolt operator for Consol Buchanan One Mines. He was also a member of Consol’s Mine Rescue Team. Todd was a loving son, husband, dad and brother. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, camping and hunting. His sons were his life and he took great joy in watching them grow into young men. He was a quiet, honest, hard working man who took a lot of pride in his work and was a true friend to those who had the honor of calling him friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Nelson Horn. Funeral services for Todd Meadows will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Alan Meadows and Steve Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be the members of Consol’s Buchanan Mine Rescue Team. A visitation will be held, Monday evening and friends may call from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.
