Ella Stinson

Ella Frances Walden Stinson, age 81 of Stinson Ridge section of Jewell Ridge, Virginia passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at a local area hospital following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Horsecave, Kentucky on September 3, 1930 and was the daughter of the late OscarWalden and Vinice Gaskins Walden Nichols. Ella was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She had dedicated her life to taking care of her family and was always strong willed and strong hearted through the hard times. Ella loved to garden and spent many hours canning her fruits and vegetables. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father Herbert Nichols; son, Mac Junior Stinson; grandson, John Nathaniel Taylor; brother, LaDoice Walden and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Reynolds. Those who survive to carry on her spirit are: Her husband of 57 years, McAdoo Stinson Her daughters: Becky Stinson Vandyke and husband, Bo of Stinson Ridge section of Jewell Ridge, VA Patsy Clifton of Swords Creek, VA Anna Mitchell and husband Avery of Jewell Ridge, VA Janie Stinson and Jimmy of Doran, VA Daughter-in-law, Cynthia Stinson of Stinson Ridge section of Jewell Ridge, VA Son, Donald Ray Stinson and wife Tina of Bandy, VA She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren along with a host of family and friends. Funeral services for Ella Stinson will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Lonnie Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Adam Mitchell, Andy Mitchell, Tommy Stinson, Billy Stinson, Danny Stinson and Nathan Hays. Honorary Pallbearer will be Clayton McGlothlin. Friends may call on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:30.
