Evelyn Hale

Evelyn “Toots” White Hale, age 85, of Kingsport, TN, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 in a Kingsport, TN hospital. She was born in Wilder, Virginia and was the daughter of the late George and Florence Poplin Allen. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was a former instructor in the Pioneer Head Start in Thorpe, West Virginia and the former owner and operator of the Seven Spot Fashion Boutique in Richlands, Virginia during the 1970s and 1980s. She was a member of the Morrison City Christian Church in Kingsport, TN; she was also a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge in Iaeger, West Virginia, former member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Clinch Valley Medical Center, and former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Casey Shortt VFW Post #9640. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Pierce White; her second husband, Troy Hale; two sisters, Edith Mullins and Juanita Ramsey; and two brothers, Harry Allen and Bill Allen. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors are: Three Daughters: Brenda White Ryan and husband, Bill of Kingsport, TN Phyllis White Shelton and husband, Roy of Richlands, Virginia Debbie White Mullins and husband, Richard of Kingsport, TN Step Daughters: Shirley Hampton and husband, Homer of Sevierville, TN and Karen Hess and husband, Everett of Poquoson, Virginia Step Son: Ronnie Hale and wife, Barbara of Sevierville, TN Eight Grandchildren and Seventeen Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Evelyn Hale will be conducted Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11:00am at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Bob Underwood officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Mike Ryan, Jon Ryan, Scott Mullins, Junior Hutchinson, Bernie Dye, John Griffith, and Chris Bryant. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the Morrison City Christian Church, 1940 Darnell Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660 from 5:00pm until 6:15pm, services will be held at 6:15pm Tuesday evening.
