Faye Boyd Vance

Faye Boyd Vance, age 83, of Abingdon, Virginia, formerly of Oakwood, Virginia, departed this life peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 2, 2017. She was born in Little Fox in the Davenport, Virginia area and was the daughter of the late Frazier Boyd and Lillie Boyd Ratliff. She had made her home in the Abingdon area since 1997 and was a member of the Harvest Worship Center in Bristol, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fullen Vance; one infant son, Gary Dean Vance; daughter in law, Donna Vance; and four brothers, Lawson Deel, Vince Ratliff, Milton Ratliff, and Clarence Ratliff. Survivors are: Daughters: Wanda Vance of Kingsport, TN Brenda Horn and husband, Gary of Abingdon, VA Joyce Blankenship and husband, Sam of Bristol, TN Karen Mullins and husband, Tom of Oakwood, VA Sandra Vance of Abingdon, VA Sherry Coleman and husband, Don of Kingsport, TN Melissa Horne and husband, Kenny of Oakwood, VA Sons: Willard Vance of Oakwood, VA Ralph Vance and wife, Wanda of Oakwood, VA Rick Vance of Church Hill, TN Brothers: Garmon Owens of Swords Creek, VA Twelve Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren also survive. Special Cousin: Roma Justice of Victoria, VA Special Friend: Daisy Thomas of Abingdon, VA Special Thanks to Dr. Jennifer Jonkers of Abingdon, VA and the staff and nurses of Wellmont Hospice of Bristol, TN All services for Faye Boyd Vance will be private for family only. Funeral services for Faye Boyd Vance will be conducted Monday, June 5, 2017 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Kenny Horne officiating. Interment will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, VA. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
