Gay Nell Cook

Gay Nell Cook passed from this life into her eternal life with Jesus on December 1, 2022, while a resident at Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Gay was born in Jolo, West Virginia on January 14, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Goldie Addair Blevins. She attended McDowell County, West Virginia schools and she had been a long time resident of the Tazewell/Adria area. She had attended Life Sanctuary in Richlands, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Cook; brother, Danny Blevins; and her sister, Judy Blevins; along with a grandchild, Hope Christian. Gay is survived by her three sons, who she told all the residents of Commonwealth about: Farley Christian, Jr. and wife, Patricia of Richlands, Virginia Lonnie Christian and wife, Robin of Cookeville, Tennessee Brian Christian of Rensselaer, Indiana Stepchildren: Herman Cook of Adria, Virginia Christine Cook Thompson of Tazewell, Virginia Richard Cook of Tazewell, Virginia Sisters: Ruby Lester of Paynesville, West Virginia Laverne Cline of Princeton, West Virginia Brothers: Kenneth Blevins and wife, Jackie of Jolo, West Virginia Ronnie Blevins of Abingdon, Virginia Grandchildren: Hannah Christian Hensley and husband, Brandon; Angeline Christian Miller and husband, Adam; Zachary Christian; Austin Christian, and Andrew Christian and wife, Victoria Great Grandchildren: Kaleb, Keigan, Adam, Levi, Abigail, Landon, Will, and Alayna Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her many friends at Commonwealth Senior Living also survive. Funeral services for Gay Nell Cook will be conducted Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Brandon Hensley and Rev. Adam Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
