Goldie Marie Peck Whitt

On Sunday, September 27, 2015, Goldie Marie Peck Whitt, age 86 of the Frank’s Hollow section of Swords Creek, VA left her loving family here on earth to join those waiting for her in Heaven: her parents, Emmett and Edna Wilson Peck; husband, Buford Whitt; daughter, Linda White; son, Jerry Whitt; granddaughter, Stephanie Honaker; grandson, William White; sons-in-law, Barry Honaker and Kerry McGlothlin; brothers, Edward Peck and Garfield Peck. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of the Swords Creek area. Mrs. Whitt was a devout Christian and a 70 year member of the Pine Creek Pole Church, where she served as secretary for many years. She is survived by daughters: Sue Honaker of Swords Creek, VA and special friend, Ronnie Williams of Glade Springs, VA Connie Vandyke and husband, Don of Raven, VA Ruth Honaker and husband, Jerry of Honaker, VA Janice Compton of Swords Creek, VA Sheila Dye and husband, Gary of Swords Creek Son-In-Law: Dennis White of Swords Creek, VA Grandchildren: Brian and Christiana White, Kem and Marlene McGlothlin, Tina and Brian Keen, Vickie and Josh Crabtree, Jamie Gross, Amy and Chris Mounts, Heather Kendrick, and Amanda Dye. Eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sister, Mary Byrd of Campton, KY; foster sister, Betty Snead of Lebanon, VA; many nieces and nephews; special friend and neighbor, Maxine Whitt; special family friends, Jerry and Judy Hess and the loving family at Pine Creek Pole Church. Funeral services for Goldie Marie Peck Whitt will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Dennis White and Rev. Carter Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill and Doug Whitt and the men of the Pine Creek Pole Church.
