Harley E. Sanders

Harley E. Sanders, age 70 of Tazewell, VA died Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital. He was born April 6, 1949 in Honaker, VA and was a son of the late Estil and Goldie Edith Compton Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a retired Coal Miner having worked for several local coal mines, retiring from Consolidated Coal Company. He enjoyed fishing and working in his flower and vegetable gardens when his health allowed him. He loved his family and spoiled his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Sanders and Jerry Sanders. Those left to cherish his memory include, his loving wife, Linda L. Sanders; four children, Michael William Sanders and wife, Becky of Princeton, WV, Kenneth Eugene Sanders and wife, Heather of Tazewell, VA, Adam Gregory Sanders of Bluefield, VA and Brittani Lynn Sanders of Thompson Valley, VA; two sisters, Judy Israel and husband Bill and Evelyn Nash and husband, Phillip, both of Honaker, VA; two brothers, Larry Sanders and Allen Sanders, both of Honaker, VA; eight grandchildren, Savannah, Breyana, Katelyne, Weston, Kristoffer, Kendra, Hunter Harley and Adalyn; one great-grandchild, Brayden; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. Sanders will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Reverend Troy Bartley officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Adam Sanders, Aaron Allison, Jason Israel, Dustin Sanders, Ricky Kinder, Jason Kinder, Andre Weaver and Tim Sanders. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2020.
