Helen Lowe Spangler

Helen Lowe Spangler, age 92, of Richlands, Virginia, went home to be with her Savior on July 5, 2019 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia. Helen was born on May 11, 1927 in Richlands, Virginia to the late George W. Lowe and Stella Lowe Barnes. She was a lifelong resident of the Richlands, Virginia area and was a member of Hill Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold D. Spangler; brothers, Raymond Lowe and Wilmer Lowe; step-father, Sterlie Barnes; son-in-law, Paul Price; grandson, Shannon Stuart Hale; brother-in-law, Rusty Ward; and sister-in-law, Eula (Twitch) Lowe. Those left to cherish her memory include Daughters Delores Price Boyd and husband, Darrell of Richlands, Virginia Sharon Damron and husband, Danny of Bluff City, Tennessee Lisa Hale and husband, Roger of Richlands, Virginia Sister Frances Ward of Roanoke, Virginia Brothers Jim Lowe of Oro Valley, Arizona George Lowe and wife, Susie of Roanoke, Virginia Grandchildren David Price (Melissa) of Bristol, TN, Paula Price of Marshall, NC, Daniel Damron of Knoxville, TN, Jeff Damron (Hannah) of Oceanside, CA, Bethany Duncan and Allison Hale, both of Kingsport, TN. Great Grandchildren Michaela Price, Summer Calhoun, Tristan Damron, Logan Sheppard, Lily Calhoun, Caleb Damron Great-Great Granddaughter, Fox Gillian Howard Sister-in-Law, June Lowe Several nieces and nephews also survive. A special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Commonwealth Senior Living and Helping Hands Hospice, Teresa Pennington, and the 2nd Floor Nursing Staff at Clinch Valley Medical Center for the care they provided during Helen’s illness. A special thank you is also extended to Katherine Jackson for being such a loving, special friend. Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 2 PM at Hankins Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia with Reverend Bill Fletcher officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, great grandsons, and friends. Members of Hill Creek Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia at 1:30 PM to line-up.
