Henry Durwood Stiltner, Jr.

Henry Durwood Stiltner, Jr., age 68, of Bandy, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. Henry was born on May 27, 1957, in Melbourne, Florida, and was the son of the late Henry D. Stiltner, Sr. and Helen Margaret Wallace Stiltner. He was a 1976 graduate of Richlands High School and was a coal miner. He was a lifelong resident of the Jewell Ridge and Bandy area. Henry was a great man who found the good and joy in simple things. He loved to mow grass, fish, and work on cars. He was a patient man and could fix anything he touched. His biggest pleasure was found sitting at a table sharing food, love, and laughter with his wife, children, and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pearl Hamilton; and brothers, Kenneth Stiltner and Jeff Stiltner. He is survived by: His Wife, Connie Ward Stiltner Daughters: Jennifer Shepherd and her husband, Joe of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Cindy Reed and her husband, Keith of Bandy, Virginia Son: Johnny Hank Stiltner and his wife, Mikayla of Richlands, Virginia Sisters: Cathy Perkins and her husband, Delmar of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Brenda Vencill and her husband, Nelson of Raven, Virginia Teresa Compton and her husband, Mike of Richlands, Virginia Special Friends, Marilyn Richardson, whom he loved dearly, and Jimmie and Beulah Millirons Also surviving are a host of family and friends. Funeral services for Henry Durwood Stiltner, Jr. will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia, with the Rev. Randy Webb and Mark Mullins officiating. Interment will follow at Whittaker Ridge Family Cemetery, near Bandy, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Brian Stiltner, Charlie Ward, Shawn Hill, Tyler Richardson, Mark Mullins, and Johnny Hank Stiltner. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Cordle, Steve Helton and the men of the Keen Mountain Holiness Church. The Stiltner family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Saturday evening at the funeral home.
