Hezekiah Price

Mr. Hezekiah “Heze” Price, age 93, of Raven, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the home of his daughter and son in law in London, Kentucky. He was born near Elk Garden, Virginia, and was the son of the late Ira B. Price and Sally Boardwine Price Dye. He had made his home in London, Kentucky since March 2009 after the death of his wife, Akert Price, and was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the House of Prayer in Jewell Valley, Virginia and was a member of UMWA Local #7327 Jewell Valley, Virginia. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. He loved coal mining, gardening, wood working, people, and children. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Akert Price; two sisters, Minnie Moody and Lucretta Price; and four brothers, Daugherty, Lloyd, Lewis, and Charlie. Survivors are: One Daughter who loved and took care of him: Elma Jo Parks and husband, Sonny of London, Kentucky One Brother: Bailey Price of Whitewood, Virginia Loving Watch Dog: Molly (whom appointed herself to be Heze’s guardian) Three Grandchildren: Sharon Mabbett and husband, Keith of Tampa, Florida; Karen Ackinson and husband, Jim of Lexington, Kentucky; and Scott Parks and wife, Christy of Campbellsville, Kentucky. Six Great Grandchildren: Alex Lancaster, Ryan Lancaster, Matthew Jones, Kaitlin Jones, Tanner Parks, and Cooper Parks Two Step Great Grandchildren: Amanda Mabbett and Gregory Mabbett Funeral services for Heze Price will be conducted Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11:00am at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Earl Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Family and friends wills serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Omega and Edd Mitchell, Bill and Sue Turner; Mike and Marie Smith, Robert and Joan Day, and Faye Hackworth.
