James Horne

Mr. James Clyde ?J. C.? Horne, Jr., age 71, of Whitewood, Virginia, died Thursday, September 18th, 2003 at a Richlands, Virginia hospital. He was born in Bradshaw, West Virginia and was a son of the late James Clyde (Jim) and Etta McCoy Horne, both McDowell County, West Virginia natives. He had made his home in the Whitewood area most of his life and was a retired trucker and mechanic. He was a member of the Flatwoods Church of Christ and the Grundy Oddfellow Lodge. Survivors are: His Wife, Mrs. June Ruth Wimmer Horne One Daughter, Mrs. Chris Rife and husband, Chester of Abingdon, Virginia Two Sons: Mr. Gerald Horne and wife, Donna of Whitewood, Virginia Mr. Jeffrey Horne and wife, Paula of Whitewood, Virginia Five Sisters: Mrs. Robert (Eunice) Kindoll of Whitewood, Virginia Mrs. Inice McGaha of Newcomerstown, Ohio Mrs. George (Jan) Zikakis of Troy, Michigan Mrs. Harry (Hope) Reed of Silver Springs, Florida Mrs. Gwen Slater of Miami, Florida Five Brothers: Mr. Raymond Horne and wife, Betty of Mt. Vernon, Ohio Mr. Buford Horne and wife, June of Tazewell, Virginia Mr. Dean Horne of Jolo, West Virginia Mr. Gary Horne and wife, Sue of Jolo, West Virginia Mr. Keith Horne of Huntington, West Virginia Four special grandchildren, Chetric Rife and fiancÚe, Monica, Jeffrey Horne, Jr., Victoria Horne, Garrett Horne, also, two special great grandchildren, Destiny Brown and Skylar Brown, and several nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews. Funeral services for Mr. James Clyde (J. C.) Horne, Jr. will be conducted Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with Preacher Hobert Kennedy and Rev. Jimmy Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Ricky McGaha, Bruce Kindoll, Raymond Horne, Gary Forth, Deanie Horne, Gary Lee Horne, Clyde Wimmer, Jr., Billy Wimmer, Arlen Harper, and Bobby Gene Price.
