Janice "Fanc" Cole Quick

Janice Cole Quick, age 77, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, best known as “Fanc,” went to her heavenly home on January 23, 2023 in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was born on April 13, 1945 in Whitewood, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Claude Cole and Ava Salyers Cole. Janice found great joy in telling others about Jesus and sharing her testimony of God’s goodness. She would start or end every conversation by telling you that she loved you and urging you to live for the Lord. Janice served in ministry as lead singer of The Master’s Servants. Janice and Clyde also ministered through radio broadcast on WGTH and WRIC. Janice was a loving and faithful wife to her beloved Clyde of 57 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Janice found so much fulfillment in raising and nurturing her children and grandchildren. She was a mother to over 80 children during her 20 years of being a foster parent. Janice demonstrated her passion for providing love and safety for children by serving on the Board of Tazewell County Social Services as well as the Board of Tazewell County Office of Youth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clay Cole; brothers in law: Harold Keen and Bobby Huffman; and sister in law, Rita Cole. Survivors are: Her Beloved Husband of 57 years: Clyde Jr. Quick Daughters: Shawna Waldron and husband, John of Johnson City, TN Connie Absher and husband, John of Claypool Hill, Virginia Sons: Clyde “Chip” Quick and wife, Elizabeth of Riner, Virginia William Quick and wife, Audra of Denver, NC Grandchildren: Caleb Quick, MaKayla Quick, Mariah Quick, Gage Quick, Zackery Quick, Conrad Quick, Bella Waldron, Alex Waldron, Forrest Quick, Taylor Clark, Reagan Absher, Emma Absher, Ly Pham, and Ben Pham. Special Friends: Huy and Li Pham of Okeechobee, FL Sisters: Lorene Huffman of Richlands, Virginia Pauline Oberby and husband, Bruce of Winston Salem, NC Kathy Green and husband, Larry of Charlotte, NC Pat Quick and husband, Russell of Bristol, TN Wanda Lowe and husband, Danny of Richlands, Virginia Brother: Claude “Dick” Cole, Jr. of Pounding Mill, Virginia Many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Janice “Fanc” Quick will be conducted Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Denny May and Rev. Mike Alitzer officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Caleb Quick, Gage Quick, Ly Pham, Ben Pham, Blane Huffman, Barry Huffman, Yancey Lowe, and Mike Green.
