Joyce Crouse Dunn

Joyce Crouse Dunn age 68 of Thomasville, North Carolina, formerly of Tazewell, Virginia was surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 16, 2021 as she drew her last breath. She had fought a long and courageous battle against cancer. Joyce was born in Richlands, Virginia on September 10, 1952 and was the daughter of the late Woodrow Crouse and Susan Smith Crouse. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. Joyce had worked for many years as factory worker for Concept Plastics as well as being a full time homemaker. She loved to spend as much time with her family as possible. She enjoyed fishing and bowling and was known to have a wandering spirit, she loved to travel and explore new places. Joyce was well known for her big heartedness, she had a kind and caring spirit and would help those in need. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Shrader, Ruth Ball, Billie Martin and Linda Richardson; brother, Michael Crouse. Those that remain to carry on her loving spirit are her: Husband, Kenneth Wayne Dunn Sr., of Thomasville, NC Children: Regina Deters of High Point, NC Kenneth Wayne Dunn, Jr of Thomasville, NC Sister, Alice Neal of Tazewell, VA Grandchildren, Michael Deters, Brittany Vincent, Brandon Deters, Nicholas Little, Kristin Dunn, Karlie Dunn, Kenneth Wayne Dunn, III and Kendra Dunn. Great grandchildren, Noell Aldous, Madison Aldous, Audrey Vincent, Ryleigh Deters and Landon Deters. The funeral service for Joyce Crouse Dunn will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell with the Rev. Kenny Fields Officiating. Interment will follow at the Grandview Cemetery in Bluefield, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Dunn, Jr., Michael Deters, David Ball, Carter Robins, Daniel Berry and Jason Redd James. Honorary Pallbearers are, Nicholas Little, Carl Little, Jacob James and Brandon Ashby. The family will begin receiving friends on Thursday evening at the funeral home at 6:00pm until 9:00 pm.
